Women At Work made its very first grant from its Field of Interest Endowment Fund with Pasadena Community Foundation in June of 2017. The grant of $2,000 is given to the Pasadena Community College (PCC) Veterans Center, Women Veterans Services and Programs. The Endowment Fund is charged with a mission to “support organizations that help women with challenging circumstances achieve sustainable employment”.
The Women At Work Board of Directors researched and evaluated many organizations providing services to women in the Pasadena and Greater San Gabriel Valley. The Women Veterans Services and Programs at PCC, provides resources, education, and training to enable women veterans to make an easier transition to civilian life.
The Women At Work Endowment grant was awarded to Women Veterans Services and Programs at the Local Heroes Celebration hosted by the Pasadena Community Foundation on June 15, 2017 at the University Club. Former Mayor Bill Bogaard presented the grant to PCC Women Veterans Program. Also, Mr. Bogaard highlighted the contributions and legacy of Women At Work over the past three decades. Pasadena Community Foundation sponsors this annual event to recognize annual programs funded from various Special Interest Endowment Funds under their management.
Women At Work established the Field of Interest Endowment Fund in April 2016 with initial seed money of $26,000. Women At Work continues to raise funding for the Endowment Fund and has achieved its initial goal of raising $100,000. The second phase of the goal is to raise $50,000 in 2017-2018. The Board of Directors appreciates the continued support from our donors and to help us to continue the good work and legacy of Women At Work. To make a legacy gift you may:
