February 14, 2012 By: wome0962 Category: Events at Women At Work

Women At Work is hosting their first Employer’s Forum this year.

Women At Work clients are encouraged to arrive early, dressed for success with resume in hand. Employers arrive by 3:00 and are asked to speak to the collective group before separating to predetermined sections of our office. Women At Work clients and guests are then able to speak with employers about employment opportunities and (where possible) leave their resume.

Our first Employer Forum this year will be Wednesday, February 29, from 3-5pm.

The Employer Forum is open to the public, but the cost to enter is $5.

Gale Anne Hurd honored by Women At Work

September 01, 2011 By: wome0962 Category: Events at Women At Work

Winner of Women At Work's "Trailblazer Award," Gale Anne Hurd, center

In partnership with KPCC Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena, Women At Work honored accomplished film producer, director and community friend, Gale Anne Hurd.  Moderator Sandra Tsing Loh,  radio commentator, hosted the event.  The two shared candidly about the success and challenges of working in entertainment.   The evening was attended by Women At Work clients, board members and friends of Ms. Hurd.

Gale Anne Hurd is one of the industry’s most respected and innovative film and television producers. Over the course of her career, Hurd has developed and produced films that routinely garner Academy Award® nominations, and TV programs that win Emmys® and shatter ratings records. By continually selecting daring material, championing technological innovations, and remaining hands-on in her approach, Hurd has carved out a leading position in the previously male-dominated world of the blockbuster, and become a recognized creator of iconic cultural touchstones. At the helm of her production entity, Valhalla Entertainment, Hurd continually develops and produces a broad range of projects.

Ms. Hurd is the first recipient of the Women At Work Trailblazer Award. We appreciate her support of Women At Work and wish her continued success in her career. View more photos from this event on Facebook.
